The Data Safety & Digital Skills Advocacy Foundation equips young people with the digital skills to thrive and the knowledge to stay safe online — through training, advocacy and community-driven projects. Our vision is a Nigeria where every young person can take part safely in the digital world.

What We Do

Three connected areas of work, all aimed at the safe use and processing of data — and at helping young people thrive online.

Data Safety

Helping young people protect their personal data, recognise online threats and scams, and stay safe across the platforms they use.

Data Advocacy

Campaigning for stronger data protection standards and digital rights, and for the responsible, transparent handling of people's data.

Digital Skills

Delivering practical, hands-on training that equips young people with the skills they need to learn, work and build a future.

We Research & Fund

We identify the biggest data-safety gaps facing young Nigerians and fund the programmes that close them.

We Educate

We run hands-on training in digital skills, data protection and staying safe online.

We Protect

We help young people spot and respond to scams, fraud and the misuse of their personal data.

We Advise

We guide schools, communities and organisations on the safe, responsible handling of data.

We Build Capacity

We set up digital-skills hubs and training spaces in underserved communities.

We Advocate

We push for stronger data rights and protections for young people across Nigeria.

A safer future online for every young person

Many young people step into the digital world with no one to guide them. We give them the knowledge to recognise online threats, protect their personal data and move through the internet with confidence.

Bringing digital opportunity within reach

Too many young Nigerians are locked out of the tools and training that open doors. We equip them with practical digital skills they can use to learn, earn and build a future of their own.

New skills, new possibilities

From data protection to hands-on tech training, we set up digital-skills hubs in underserved communities so young people can learn, grow and thrive wherever they are.

64%
Why our work matters

Most Nigerians have already had their data put at risk.

64% of organisations in Nigeria experienced a data breach in the first quarter of 2023. We're working to change that — equipping young people to protect themselves and to demand better.
