About DAASA

Protecting young people in a digital world

DAASA is a non-profit working to close the digital divide — helping young people stay safe online and build the skills they need to learn, work and thrive.

Who we are

A team of change-makers for a safer digital future

A non-profit working across Nigeria so that no young person is left behind online.

We believe every young person deserves to take part in the digital world safely, confidently and on equal footing.

The Data Safety and Digital Skills Advocacy Foundation (DAASA) began by reaching out to young people who were eager to learn but lacked the guidance and tools to navigate technology safely. The more communities we visited, the clearer the need became — for digital skills, for online safety, and for real protection of personal data.

So our work grew, and we expanded across regions to reach as many young people as we could. Today we run hands-on training programmes, online-safety workshops and advocacy campaigns, with a presence in communities across the country so support is always within reach — not just in the big cities, but in the places too often left out.

Our programmes span the essentials of modern digital life — staying safe on social media, spotting scams and protecting personal data — alongside foundational skills in computing, the internet, data and emerging tools like artificial intelligence. Whatever a young person's starting point, we meet them there.

Everything we do is shaped by the young people we serve. We listen first, design our programmes around real needs, and measure our work by one thing: whether a young person walks away safer, more skilled and more confident online than before.

Our approach

What drives our work

Our mission, vision and approach guide everything we do for the young people and communities we serve.

01

Our Mission

To make sure every young person gets the digital skills, safety knowledge and support they need, when they need it — no matter their background or where they live.

02

Our Vision

A world where no young person is left behind online, and where everyone can learn, work and take part safely in the digital economy.

03

Our Approach

We combine practical training, public advocacy and grounded research — reaching out across regions so help, guidance and opportunity are always accessible.

What we stand for

The values behind everything we do

A few simple commitments shape how we show up for young people and the communities we work in.

01

Safety first

We put the wellbeing and protection of young people at the centre of every programme we run.

02

Equity & access

We reach the communities others overlook, so opportunity isn't decided by postcode or background.

03

Practical skills

We teach skills people can use right away to learn, earn and stay safe in the digital world.

04

Community-led

We listen before we build, designing our work around the real needs of the people we serve.

05

Evidence-based

We ground our advocacy and training in research, and measure the difference we make.

06

Lasting impact

We build confidence and capability that stays with a young person long after the session ends.
